Today was a special day for the Friends of Squaw Mountain and our local cub scout pack 120. The boys spent the morning at our lodge learning of the strong Native American History in the Moosehead Lake Region. These young minds learned that nature is to be cherished and nothing wasted or taken for granted. Together they crafted an traditional authentic drum using only nature’s gifts of a moose hide and wood taken from the forest. We thank David Slagger for sharing his knowledge with us today and we look forward to more lessons like this in the future. What a memorable activity on this Thanksgiving Eve!
